My introduction to the ADSA was in 2014 when my late husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, connected to his exposure to asbestos in his late teens.
The Society guided us through some heavy times and for that I’m truly grateful.
My pledge is to continue to raise awareness of asbestos, its life harmful effects and raise funds to find a cure. One of the ways I do this is through the walks.

Day 4 we left Harvey making our way to Yarloop. Thank you Gary for sharing your knowledge and experience of the town and the sad story of the Yarloop fires ?

Even whilst out on the roadside we came across asbestos …

The ADSA Walk is an annual event run by the Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia Inc, ADSA, to raise lifesaving funds for medical research into a cure for mesothelioma an asbestos caused cancer and to raise asbestos awareness in the community.

The ADSA is a caring charitable organisation that has for more than 35 years provided a unique service to asbestos diseases sufferers, their families, and the Australian community, assisting with the many issues arising out of exposure to asbestos and its devastating consequences. The epidemic of asbestos diseases in Australia is affecting members of the community from all walks of life in greater numbers as each year passes.

All donations to the ADSA Walk go to fund the ADSA PhD Scholarship in Mesothelioma.
